Creed On Shaky Ground

Fans holding tickets to Creed concerts for the next few days are best advised to call the venue and make sure the gigs are still on. It looks like lead singer Scott Stapp's throat problems are plaguing him once again and forcing the band to cancel or postpone shows.

The band is off the T-Mobile Rocks The Rock concert. The event was to be staged on the infamous Alcatraz Island off San Francisco October 10. A mere 500 lucky "cellmates" were to be allowed in for the concert and only through winning radio promotions and sweepstakes as no tickets were being sold for the event.

At this time it is not known if another band will step in for Creed or if the entire show will be nixed.

Four shows scheduled for this week have already been either canceled or postponed, starting with an October 5 gig in Phoenix. Bakersfield (6th), Los Angeles (8th) and Sacramento (9th) also suffered the axe.

According to Ticketmaster the October 12 show in Mountain View has been postponed. It's also unclear if any further shows will be affected, but stay tuned to POLLSTAR for further developments.

The band has had to shuffle shows a number of times in recent years due to Stapp's recurring vocal issues. Several shows in the summer of 2000 were either canceled or postponed when he was diagnosed with laryngitis.

Then, earlier this year, an auto accident involving Stapp forced the postponement of the entire Weathered tour. Stapp was said to suffer a back injury and ordered by doctors to take some time off to rest and undergo physical therapy.
